Floating pop-up hotel berths at London Docklands
Floating pop-up hotel the Good hotel has berthed in London's Royal Victoria Dock, and is set to open next month.
The floating 148-bedroom boutique hotel, owned and operated by the Good Hotel Group, berthed in Newham's Royal Docks earlier this month and is taking bookings from 1 December.
The Good hotel, launched by founder and chief executive Marten Dresen in 2012, has an ethos of re-investing its profits into the business, its staff and local causes through training and employing the long-term unemployed. The hotel launched in June 2015 Amsterdam, where it docked before setting sail for London.
The hotel features a rooftop garden and café, a ‘living room' serving locally-sourced food and drinks, and four meeting rooms overlooking the water. All rooms also include complimentary iPads.
Dresen said: "The Royal Victoria Dock is the perfect location for Good hotel and we aim to offer a fantastic experience for discerning leisure and business travellers alike. Moreover, we want to give something back to this vibrant community and hope that we can offer a practical career option for locals who have found it difficult to get that first break or step back into work."
The Good hotel will be represented by independent hotel marketing consortium HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts.
