London hotels end 2014 with record-breaking revpar figure

Hotel performance in London ended 2014 on a high, achieving the highest revenue per available room (revpar) rates of any December in 20 years, according to preliminary figures from STR Global.

Alongside an 8.3% increase in revpar to £111.03, average daily rate and occupancy also grew by 5.3% to £141.56 and 2.8% to 78.4% respectively.

Elizabeth Winkle, managing director of STR Global, said: "London closed the year with another record month, achieving the highest revpar levels of any December for the past two decades.

"The British capital is looking back at five consecutive years of revpar growth and is expected to continue this trend in 2015."

STR Global will release its full December 2014 results in two weeks.
