Rockliffe Hall spa to expand
The award-winning spa at the five-red-AA-star, 61-bedroom Rockliffe Hall, near Darlington, is to undergo a substantial expansion with the development of outside facilities.
Work is already under way on the creation of a 200sqm Spa Garden, which will encompass a hydrotherapy pool with massage features, Jacuzzi, under-floor heated decking and lounge areas, a garden room with a glass-fronted sauna cabin, fire pit, water feature and landscaped gardens.
Liz Holmes, spa director, Rockliffe Hall, described the spa garden as "a major development" for Rockliffe Hall. "The Spa Garden will really make the resort the go-to place in the North of England as it is going to be the only one of its kind. The new development will overlook Rockliffe Hall's magnificent grounds and offer even more luxury within the 365 acre estate."
Warwick Brindle, chairman of Rockliffe Hall, added: "The investment marks the start of an exciting growth phase for our resort with big plans for the coming year as we continue to strive to increase both business and leisure tourism in the region."
The Good Spa Guide has named the spa at Rockliffe Hall as the Best Spa for Sheer Luxury, as well as awarding it the 5 Bubble Luxury rating, which has been presented to only five properties in the UK.
