Michelin-starred Stark to move from Kent to Essex

Michelin-starred restaurant Stark in Broadstairs in Kent will move to Mersea Island in Essex following a final service on 31 May.

Stark is believed to be the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Thanet.

Founders Ben and Sophie Crittenden announced the move on Instagram earlier today (1 March). Further details are yet to be revealed.

Stark opened in December 2016 as Ben's first restaurant. He had previously been head chef at the Michelin-starred West House restaurant with rooms in Biddenden, Kent.

The pair moved Stark to a larger site with 14 covers on the same road as the original in August 2020.

They closed their sister site, tapas bar Dos, in December 2022.
