Avalon's food "isn't good enough", says critic

Zoe Williams at the Sunday Telegraph finds "the menu talks a terrific game" at Avalon, but admits that after trying it she end up making a noise much like a "disappointed horse".

Avalon, says Williams, is a great restaurant space that looks chic and has a great atmosphere, but "the food isn't good enough".

Bret Graham and Mike Robinson's Harwood Arms in London impresses Guardian critic Matthew Norman.

Bar a few minor quibbles, Norman describes the Harwood under chef Stephen Williams (bought in from the Ledbury) by the partners "a triumph".
