Chinese food wholesalers buy Darlington restaurant

The former Gastro restaurant in the Northgate area of Darlington in County Durham has been bought by the owners of Chinese food wholesaler T&S Foods.

Chi-Kin Lee and Tze-Ming Kwan plan to convert the end-of-terrace property into an open buffet-style Chinese restaurant.

The restaurant in Gladstone Street is just off the A167, a main route into the town centre from the A1, and lies on the town's main leisure circuit.

It offers a 40-seat, ground-floor restaurant, a small bar, a decked patio on the first floor, and a large car park to the rear.

The Newcastle office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £229,000
