Gordon Ramsay to launch Fat Cow casual dining concept at LA shopping mall

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is to launch a new casual dining concept in the USA with the opening of the Fat Cow in Los Angeles this summer.

A collaboration with Gordon Ramsay Holdings Corporate Executive US chef Andi Van Willigan, the Fat Cow will open at LA's the Grove shopping centre, which is already home to a range of dining outlets.

Seating up to 200 diners, the new restaurant will have a relaxed, rustic neighbourhood atmosphere with a menu offering European-inspired dishes. The menu will include a rotating roaster, house cured meats, local cheeses and daily changing dishes inspired by the nearby farmers market. Puddings will showcase classic American home desserts with a British pub style.

Interiors will be developed by AK Design Network and architects Gold Grenade.

Commenting on the new restaurant launch Ramsay said: "We're really excited to bring this concept to life, a place where people can just relax and enjoy a delicious European inspired meal."

Van Willigan added: "Gordon has been an incredible mentor, so to now have the opportunity to partner on this restaurant with such a creative culinary concept is really exciting."

Last month, Ramsay said he was "surprised and saddened" by the owner of his Canadian restaurant's decision to terminate his association with the eaterie. The owner of Laurier Gordon Ramsay in Montreal, Danny Lavy, announced that he was removing the celebrity chef's name from the business because Ramsay had failed to visit it since its opening last summer.

Meanwhile Ramsay confirmed the opening of a new restaurant in Las Vegas, which will launch at the Paris Las Vegas resort in the spring. He will take over the existing Les Artistes Steakhouse at the hotel and casino, which will reopen as Gordon Ramsay Steak.
