Harrow at Little Bedwyn raises £40,000 after week of fundraising
The Harrow at Little Bedwyn has raised almost £40,000 for NSPCC Wales after a week of fundraising activities at the restaurant.
Last Thursday it hosted a lunch supported by the great and the good of Wales including rugby legend JJ Williams, with money raised through a raffle and auction prizes.
Meanwhile, the restaurant hosted both the tri nations wine challenge this week, where guests blind taste South African, New Zealand and Australian wines, and the Mamba Awards, which highlight premium Australian wines. These events contributed £1,300 to drinks industry charity the Benevolent.
Owner Roger Jones said: "We are delighted to announce that we raised nearly £40,000 for the NSPCC Wales last Thursday with a lunch for 60 persons that we hosted in a marquee set up in our grounds. Wines served included Gabrielskloof Sauvignon Blanc (Sue Jones is pictured serving Sir Stanley Thomas), Crystallum Peter Max Pinot Noir and Bollinger Champagne."
Entertainment at the fundraising event was provided by Welsh Orchestra - Sinfonia Cymru.
