Sam's Brasserie and Harrison's in Balham appoint new head chefs

Sam's Brasserie in Chiswick and its sister restaurant Harrison's in Balham have each appointed a new head chef.

Sam's Brasserie, which opened in August 2005, has appointed Mark Baines as head chef. Baines started working with Marcus Wareing at Petrus aged 17, before going on to work at Hartwell House, Salt Yard and then spending five years at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen.

Most recently he has been working as training and development chef at Brigade, Tooley Street.

Meanwhile, Ian Leckie (pictured) has joined Harrison's Balham as head chef. Leckie was previously head chef at Sam's Brasserie for seven years and replaces Peter Muray who has now left Harrison's.

Both restaurants are owned by Sam Harrison, and co-owned by Rebecca Mascarenhas and Rick Stein.
