Zizzi opens first restaurant with stand-alone bar
Zizzi Royal Exchange in Glasgow will open on Monday (11 February). The restaurant will have 250 covers, including the bar area and outside seating.
Italian light bites will be served in the bar area, with guest able to enjoy traditional Italian aperitivo in the historic setting of Glasgow's Royal Exchange Square.
Erica Sawer, operations manager for Zizzi Scotland, said: "As Glasgow is such a vibrant city, we wanted to offer something different so we're opening our biggest-ever restaurant in the UK that features a fully licensed separate bar. With the addition of the bar menu, we want to give visitors the choice to enjoy a meal or simply meet friends for drinks within the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Exchange building."
The new bar and restaurant at Royal Exchange is the third Zizzi in the heart of Glasgow. The restaurants employ some 130 staff.
Zizzi Royal Exchange Glasgow is the first of a series of new openings for the Italian restaurant, with another seven new openings planned for this year.
