Curry sauces from Patak's and Knorr

Research by Unilever shows that almost three-quarters of chefs serve curry on a regular basis and that 39% take advantage of the convenience of prepared sauces (rising to 42% in the cost sector). To help chefs refresh their curry offering, Knorr has teamed up with the chefs at Patak's to launch five new exclusive Knorr Patak's sauces which provide spicier and lighter alternatives to the most popular flavours of korma and tikka masala.

All meet the new 2010 salt-reduction targets, are gluten-free, and have no added MSG or artificial preservatives. The menu includes Knorr Patak's Spicy Tikka Masala, Dopiaza or "double onion", and Sweet Peshwari Korma (which adds a North Indian twist to the dish with the addition of sultanas and tomatoes).

The Low Fat Tikka Masala contains less than 1% fat and has 94% less fat and 70% less salt than the regular Knorr Patak's Tikka Masala. Likewise, the Korma Light sauce is 73% lower in fat and 67% lower in salt than the standard Knorr Patak's Korma. The sauces, which have a shelf life of 12 months, are sold in cases of 2 x 2.2 litres.
