Entries open for Scotland's HIT Emerging Talent Scholarship
Scotland's Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) is now looking for entries to this year's Emerging Talent Scholarship.
Now in its 14th year, the competition is open to hospitality workers from across the industry including marketing and front of house as well as management and chefs.
HIT has this year increased the number of scholarships to 100 and has added a new High Level Scholarship designed for more experienced industry leaders.
The scholarships offer entrants the opportunity to work at the six-star Jumeirah resort in Dubai and the Disney Institute in Florida, as well as work with leading chefs, marketers and hoteliers or create their own teaching programme.
HIT Scotland chief executive David Cochrane said: ""Over the past 13 years the hospitality industry has come together to raise over £2m to help nearly 7,500 young people develop their careers through bursaries and scholarships.
"To be able to now offer more than 100 scholarships is a phenomenal effort."
The Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland has launched this year's Emerging Talent Scholarship programme; a scheme designed to search for the stars of tomorrow's hospitality industry.
• Tickets are currently on sale for the annual Oak Charity Ball to be held on the 23 November at the Royal Garden hotel in London's Kensington in aid of charity the Children's Trust.
