Clayton Hotel Chiswick appoints F&B manager
Michael McIntosh has been appointed food and beverage manager at Clayton Hotel Chiswick in West London, as the property's £21m refurbishment nears completion.
He joined the 227-bedroom hotel in January 2016 as guest relations manager and will now oversee the entire F&B provision including the relaunch and rebranding of the hotel's restaurant and bar.
The restaurant will officially launch next month, while the bar is already offering a range of signature cocktails, craft beers, specialist gins and locally brewed ales. He will manage a team of 15 in his new role.
His previous experience includes positions with Macdonald Hotels and Jurys Inn. His first job in the hospitality sector was a bartender at the Hilton Treetops hotel in Aberdeen.
McIntosh said: "It's an exciting time for the hotel as we are reaching the end of a major refurbishment which has transformed and modernised the premises.
"We will now be relaunching our 85-cover restaurant and bar with a fresh, modern menu and new branding turning the focus on providing fantastic food for our guests whether they are looking for a light snack, power breakfast or a three-course special occasion dinner.
Thomas Doyle, who was appointed general manager at the hotel in November last year, added: "It's great to have Michael on board at such a pivotal time.
"The quality of our food and drink provision remains crucial to our ongoing success, so I am pleased that Michael will be overseeing this, helping to build a fantastic reputation for our restaurant and bar."
The two-year refurbishment programme has seen the hotel's entrance, foyer and bar area reconfigured, while the events and meetings space have also been modernised. A further 104 bedrooms have been added, with existing bedrooms upgraded.
The Clayton Hotel Chiswick, formerly the Chiswick Moran Hotel, was acquired by Dalata Hotel Group as part of the €452.3m (£324m) purchase of nine hotels from Moran Bewley's Hotel Group in February 2015. It was rebranded with the Clayton name in May that year.
The hotel has remained operational throughout the refurbishment work and will officially unveil its new look in September 2016.
