Firefighters tackle restaurant blaze in Hammersmith
Dozens of firefighters were called to a fire at a restaurant and flat in Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith earlier today (9 August).
A total of six engines and 35 firefighters from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) attended the incident at Hooked Fish Bar after the fire broke out in the restaurant's extraction system.
The LFB received a call at 10.33am and the fire was under control by 1.49pm. Damage was caused to the basement, ground floor and the ducting, LFB confirmed.
Fulham Palace Road was closed between Talgarth Road and Chancellor's Road this morning.

Hammersmith & Fulham Police Tweeted: "There is a large fire in Fulham Palace Road SW6, Emergency Services are aware. Motorists, please avoid the area if possible."
TFL's Traffic News account on Twitter later confirmed the road had reopened with residual delays in the area.
Fire crews from Hammersmith, Kensington, North Kensington and Chelsea fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
