Academy of Chocolate extends Noval Trophy entry deadline
The Academy of Chocolate has extended the deadline for Noval Trophy entries, with the ultimate prize in the port and chocolate matching competition an all expenses-paid weekend in Portugal.
Those fancying a tip at the title now have until 10 September to enter their matches for the initial paper judging stage.
Under the rules of the competition, the judges will be looking for the best ganache-filled chocolates created to capture the essence of either sponsor Quinta do Noval's new port or its classic 10 Year Old Tawny.
Competitors can use the port as an ingredient but it's not compulsory, as it is the ideal match that will decide the winner.
Eight finalists' creations will be sampled and judged by delegates during the Academy of Chocolate Conference on Friday 8 October at the RAC Club in London's Pall Mall.
The winner will receive a prize of a weekend for two at the spectacular Quinta house in the Douro region of Portugal, where they will be presented with a rare bottle of Noval Vintage port.
