Bonne Bouche Frozen UK sells off equipment in biggest UK auction

Thousands of pounds worth of food processing equipment is going under the hammer in what is claimed to be the biggest auction of its kind in the UK for more than a decade.

Administrators for the crisis hit Bonne Bouche Frozen UK have ordered the sell-off to clear the company's Hartlepool plant.

KPMG were called in earlier this year when the management-owned firm, which supplied own brand desserts to supermarkets and independent retailers, closed with the loss of 242 jobs.

The auction is being organised by SHM Smith Hodgkinson and will be held exclusively online. Visit Smith Hodgkinson for more information.

"The scale of this event is colossal," said SHM director, Ian Maycock. "It is certainly the biggest sale of food manufacturing equipment since the 1990s. There should be something for businesses across the food and catering sector."

Among the lots are freezers, ovens, mixers, depositors and associated packaging equipment, as well as hundreds of individual food handling items.

The sale, which will also include online bidding, is so large it is being held across three days, between 16 and 19 April.
