Compass Group partners with Change4Life

Compass Group has teamed up with the Department of Health's Change4Life programme as the caterer rolls a healthy eating scheme out to all its central government client sites.

The Be Food Smart initiative was launched by Change4Life earlier this month, and aims to educate people about healthy eating.

Compass will display health and wellbeing messages in its central government restaurants, as meal deal options with a combined total of fewer than 600 calories will be on offer daily.

Ian Sarson, group managing director of Compass Group UK & Ireland said: "We believe that caterers can play a pivotal role in helping and encouraging people to eat a healthy, balanced diet and consumer education is an essential part of this.

"This is why we introduced our Know Your Food programme in 2012 and why we are pleased to support this new Change4Life initiative."
