The Caterer joins forces with Fred Sirieix to advance front of house standards
The Caterer has joined forces with front of house maestro and Channel 4 First Dates restaurant maître d' Fred Sirieix to launch a comprehensive service training tool.
In its continuing drive to support hospitality businesses in developing and retaining staff, The Caterer is working with Galvin at Windows general manager Sirieix and online training company Gravy for the Brain to create the Art of Service, a training tool which will allow anybody from waiting staff to restaurant managers to hone their service skills.
Using video and interactive Q&A, Sirieix guides delegates through his art of service mantra, from taking the reservation through to greeting guests, taking orders and dealing with any complaints.
Sirieix, winner of the 2013 Manager of the Year Catey award, said: "Service is much more than just service, it is about hospitality and connecting with your customers in a meaningful way. The Art of Service online tool will not only show you what to do, it will show you how to do it. In essence, it will help you create the necessary culture of excellence required for your business to strive in the long term."
Commenting on the partnership, The Caterer's publisher Mark Lewis added: "We are delighted to be able to offer this unique and innovative product to the industry. Consumers are increasingly demanding; they expect impeccable and consistent service in any establishment they visit, from their local café to a Michelin-starred restaurant. By bringing Fred's experience into the online environment, we are able to create a low-cost platform for businesses to improve their bottom line."
