GBK to open five new sites in the next three months
Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) is set to expand, with the opening of five new sites in the next three months.
The group, which currently has 53 sites across the country, will launch three new outlets at shopping centres before Christmas.
The first new restaurant is set to open at Brent Cross in London next week, with further sites at the Vaults development, part of the Southgate Shopping Centre in Bath; and at Metrocentre in Gateshead in early December.
February 2013 will see the opening of two further restaurants at the N1 Centre in Islington, north London, and at Brindley Place in Birmingham.
Commenting on the expansion, Stephen Evans, property and development director at GBK, said: "Branching out into new regions such as Bath and Newcastle is a bold and exciting next step for GBK and opens us up to a whole new market. We are also happy to have secured two sites in London, traditional GBK heartland, where competition for sites is at an all-time high and the gourmet burger market in expanding rapidly."
GBK launched in 2001 with the first restaurant on Northcote Road in Battersea, south west London. The group has grown to 53 restaurants across the country and plans to further expand in 2013.
