L'Enclume to close for improvements in December

Simon Rogan's L'Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria, is set to close for a week this December for improvements.

The closure, which takes place from 7 December, will coincide with staff holidays.

For that week, the focus will move to Rogan & Company, also in Cartmel, where Simon Rogan will be in residence for one week, cooking and serving his favourite dishes from his career so far.

More details of the menus will be available in June on the www.simonrogan.co.uk website but dishes could include a lemon tart of stuffed pig's trotter from one of Rogan's former mentors, to his own restaurant classics, to more international and exotic dishes.

The special a la carte menu will be available for both lunch and dinner from 7 until 13 December, while the improvements at L'Enclume take place.

It promises to cap a busy year for Rogan, who plans to open two restaurants this year, although he also recently surrendered the lease on the Pig & Whistle pub, also in Cartmel.
