The grand final will take place on 4 July at the Skills for Chefs Conference in Sheffield City College. The theme is Latin American cuisine and Robert Ortiz from Lima in London will be the guest judge.

The prize for the winning team, which will be announced at a gala dinner, will be a study tour to Colombia, sponsored by MSK Ingredients. The tour will include a visit to cocoa research centre Granja Luker.

David McKown, director of Skills for Chefs, said: "The quality of the entries this year demonstrate that the competition is capturing the imagination of industry and education."
