Barry Vera to be executive chef of STK London steakhouse restaurant at ME hotel
Barry Vera has been appointed executive chef of STK London, the One Group's steakhouse brand at the new ME hotel, Aldwych, which opens in September.
Yorkshire born and second generation Italian, Vera is an accomplished chef who has worked throughout the UK, France, Canada, the USA, South Africa and Australia.
Also the author of a number of cookbooks, Vera has hosted his own culinary tour TV show, broadcast on the Discovery Channel.
Past head-chef experience in the UK includes stints at Conran Restaurants' (now D&D London's) Le Pont de la Tour, Quaglino's and Cantina del Ponte, and for Marco Pierre White at the Waldorf.
Vera was also executive head chef at Blues Restaurant in Camps Bay and the Table Bay Hotel on the waterfront of Cape Town Harbour.
