Malmaison and Hotel du Vin ban foie gras
Boutique hotel groups Malmaison and Hotel du Vin have banned foie gras from the menus at their 28 properties across the UK.
The move comes after Gary Davis, chief executive of parent company MWB Group, was contacted by animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). He said he "totally agrees" with PETA's view on the issue.
Foodservice supplier and distributor Brakes Group stopped offering foie gras last July, while catering giant Compass Group dropped the controversial delicacy a year earlier.
